The client approached the firm because the General Directorate of Customs was carrying out an inspection process regarding the company’s import declarations. By virtue of this process, the General Directorate of Customs imposed on the client the payment of US$450,000.00 for unpaid taxes, US$904,000.00 for fines and US$90,500.00 for sanctions, a total of US$1,446. 590.83.

The Firm assisted the client in the conciliation and appeal process of the inspection process, in this process, Customs decided to notify a certificate of debt amounting to US$ 495,000.00, without having a firm decision to do so. The firm advised the client to initiate an administrative appeal against the debt certificate. This case is currently before the Supreme Court of Justice awaiting a decision to revoke or maintain this certificate of debt.
